Explore the Wild West!  Located on the banks of the Bow River, and with a backdrop of Alberta’s Rocky Mountains, Calgary offers many scenic delights, but also many wild experiences.  Come visit Calgary’s vibrant city, where adventure and pristine landscape join together.  Live life as a cowboy and enjoy wild adventures like horse-back riding.  Experience Calgary’s most famous annual tourist attraction, the Calgary Stampede, which brings visitors from all over the world.  Only at the Calgary Stampede will you be able to watch a real rodeo and chuck wagon races, listen to live concerts, and enjoy midway rides.  Don’t miss Calgary’s Canada Olympic Park, which featured the 1988 Winter Olympic Games.  During the winter months, this park is designed for skiing, snowboarding, bobsleighing, and luge, and is a great place to mountain bike in the summer.  Demonstrating their western pride is also Calgary’s Pengrowth Saddledome, which follows the cowboy theme even in the building’s shape – a saddle.  This is a Calgary hotspot, as it hosts numerous concerts, ice shows, and is home of the NHL Calgary Flames.  With so much to see and do, Calgary is a great travel destination year-round.
